Thank Heaven for Little Boys

OK, I'm going to backtrack here, but I'm just so excited about this little baby boy's arrival, I can't not share! My cousin, Heidi is expecting her first little bundle of joy in about three weeks! I'm excited, well, I'll be honest, I'm baby crazy, so excited might be an understatement. I am so excited for her to experience motherhood. I know she'll be a terrific Mom. I can't wait for her to experience the indescribable moment when you hear that first cry.....Wow, that brings back some memories!

So we celebrated a few weeks ago and had a blast! She got so many cute things, and all so tiny! How quickly we forget! Lots of yummy food and drinks, and of course a necessity for any baby shower, DESSERT!!

Everyone is so excited for this little guy! He will be joining his two cousins Jackson and Griffin. Whew, can't imagine all the trouble these little boys are going to get into! Let the fun begin!

Sleeping with Jackson

Unfortunately, we've been a sick household, for what seems like forever, but really since Christmas. Still, that's a really long time! We haven't all been sick at the same time (thankfully), but it seems like just as one of us is getting better, another one gets sick.

And of course, the hardest part is to see Jackson so sick. Poor little guy can't blow his nose, tell you his throat hurts, or that he has a headache. Last week was the sickest I've ever seen this little guy! All he wanted to do was be in my arms. In the past, when he's had a cold, he might take an extra long nap or need a little extra attention, but nothing like this.

I took him to the pediatrician on Monday and he said it was just a virus, his lungs were clear and his ears and throat looked fine. Jackson perked up a bit on Tuesday, but by Wednesday evening he was feverish and lethargic again. I could tell he was feeling terrible on Thursday, so Friday morning we made another trip to the doctor. This time, his ears were red (his first ear infection--EVER!) and so was his throat. We got some antibiotics which did help, but it wasn't until this week that Jackson was really getting back to his smiley self.

Anyway, due to all of this sickness, Jackson has spent most of the last month and a half sleeping (at least part of the night) in our bed. And, as Matt has put it, it's a love/hate relationship. Of course, there isn't anything better than  cuddling with this sweet little guy, sometimes I just look at him sleeping and can't describe the feeling I get knowing he's mine.

BUT........

There's also this:

Specifically, Jackson has perfected "H is for Hell" and "The Neck Scarf." Jackson also has a few oringinals, "The Burrower," because he likes to burrow into whoever, sometimes whatever, he's sleeping next to. He's also picked up "Going the Other Way," something I'm sure he inherited from his dad.

Now that we all seem to be on the mend, here's to hoping we can all get back to sleeping in our own beds!

Wordless(ish) Wednesday

While staying in the hotel this weekend, Jackson promptly climbed into the king-sized bed and staked his claim.
