Unfortunately, we've been a sick household, for what seems like forever, but really since Christmas. Still, that's a really long time! We haven't all been sick at the same time (thankfully), but it seems like just as one of us is getting better, another one gets sick.
And of course, the hardest part is to see Jackson so sick. Poor little guy can't blow his nose, tell you his throat hurts, or that he has a headache. Last week was the sickest I've ever seen this little guy! All he wanted to do was be in my arms. In the past, when he's had a cold, he might take an extra long nap or need a little extra attention, but nothing like this.
I took him to the pediatrician on Monday and he said it was just a virus, his lungs were clear and his ears and throat looked fine. Jackson perked up a bit on Tuesday, but by Wednesday evening he was feverish and lethargic again. I could tell he was feeling terrible on Thursday, so Friday morning we made another trip to the doctor. This time, his ears were red (his first ear infection--EVER!) and so was his throat. We got some antibiotics which did help, but it wasn't until this week that Jackson was really getting back to his smiley self.
Anyway, due to all of this sickness, Jackson has spent most of the last month and a half sleeping (at least part of the night) in our bed. And, as Matt has put it, it's a love/hate relationship. Of course, there isn't anything better than cuddling with this sweet little guy, sometimes I just look at him sleeping and can't describe the feeling I get knowing he's mine.
BUT........
There's also this:
Specifically, Jackson has perfected "H is for Hell" and "The Neck Scarf." Jackson also has a few oringinals, "The Burrower," because he likes to burrow into whoever, sometimes whatever, he's sleeping next to. He's also picked up "Going the Other Way," something I'm sure he inherited from his dad.
Now that we all seem to be on the mend, here's to hoping we can all get back to sleeping in our own beds!
